Mexico Fined for Ignoring Rare Porpoise Safety

🐬 Mexico has been sanctioned by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) for failing to protect the critically endangered vaquita porpoise. The population of the vaquita porpoise has been drastically reduced by gillnets used in illegal fishing.
