Supreme Court Hears Appeal on Quebec Secret Trials

The Supreme Court of Canada has agreed to hear an appeal from various media organizations over the use of secret trials in Quebec. The appeal is challenging the legal validity of a 2013 Quebec Superior Court decision which ruled that certain media organizations had to be excluded from court proceedings. The media organizations argue that secret trials violate the public's right to know and the freedom of the press.
